Who knew LoraLou is dedicated to my grandmothers. One remained estranged from me untill her death; before I was able to sit down and ask her the details of her life as Loretta.
The other is responsible for much of what shaped me as a young woman. Yet so much of her life remains a mystery to me. This is a woman who raised ten children. A woman who had illicit affairs. Who drank and smoke up until she was diagnosed with an acute anxiety disorder. The bits and pieces of her life have been gathered from second accounts.
My grandmother passed on traditions of secrecy. While also implicating that her life simply was not worth sharing. Too you, Louise, I share the details and inspiration of my life.
